Asian Pacific American Heritage Week (APAHW)

Event Description

The Asian Pacific American Heritage Week (APAHW) Planning Committee is excited to announce that APAHW is returning with a week of events from March 2nd to March 6th!

Since 1993, Asian Pacific American Heritage Week has been one of the longest-running programs at the University of Pennsylvania. APAHW aims to combine cultural and educational awareness with outreach to the community to foster dialogue across the Penn community.

APAHW is a week-long celebration of Asian Pacific American culture and heritage that include events with major APA performing arts groups, cultural celebration, well-known APA speakers, and engaging workshops. APAHW works with the Pan-Asian American Community House (PAACH) to organize and promote these events as a way to raise awareness and build community among Penn’s APA undergraduate and graduate students. Our theme this year is Serendipity, with our events reflecting the beauty in uncertainty and the opportunities, relationships, and experiences that are found when embracing the unexpected.

  Join us for our signature kickoff event where we’ll have a variety of traditional Asian crafts and games!
• 3/3: Let’s Be Real: AsianBossGirl 
  This year we are excited to have Melody Cheng, Helen Wu-Wang, and Janet Wang, the creators of the AsianBossGirl Podcast! Come learn about their insights on modern Asian identity, culture, and personal development, as well as their experience transforming their passion project into a multi-media business! • 3/4: SerendipiTea with ASAM

• 3/5: Dance the Night Away 
  Join us for dance workshop with PENNaach to learn traditional South Asian dance! All levels of experience are welcome! Please RSVP using this link!
• 3/6: Dessert Tour: Taro-ific Treats 
  Come with us on dessert tour, where we’ll make (and eat!) a wide selection of Asian snacks and treats to close out the week!
