Language Placement Exams: Korean

Event Description

NOTE: This year, the Korean Placement/Proficiency Test consists of three parts and will be conducted as follows: 

(1) Monday-Thursday, August 19-22: Online survey and test

• The link will be available HERE at 12:01 AM ET on Monday, August 19, 2024. No registration is required.
• The online test includes a student survey, a link to register for the oral test, and an online reading test, which will take about 90-120 minutes. Students cannot stop in the middle of the test, so plan their time accordingly..
• The survey will include a link to register for the oral test. Students who are not taking the online test should complete the survey to register for the oral test.

(2) Thursday, August 22  (Freshmen and Sophomore: 8-9:30 AM, Upperclassmen: 9:40-10:40 AM): Oral interview via Zoom

• Students will participate in a 10-15 minute oral interview via Zoom.
• Please note that missed appointments may result in your slot being given to another student.

(3) Friday, August 23, 8-9:30 AM: Writing test in person (Location: Meyerson B3)

• Students who have completed the online test will be eligible to take the writing test.
• Make-up oral Interview in person (Location: Myerson B5, B6, B7): Students who are unable to participate in the oral test on Thursday will have their interviews scheduled concurrently with the written exam. Registration required.

(4) Tuesday, August 27

• Your test result will be notified (TBA).

The test is designed to evaluate your language proficiency, so you do not need to prepare for the test. Thus, an example test is not provided.
