On Thursday, August 25 at 10:30pm, NSO will be having a Comedy Show with two featured comedians. Read below to learn about the two comedians who will be performing in Irvine Auditorium!
MEKKI LEEPER
Mekki Leeper is a comedian from Philadelphia, now in Los Angeles. Mekki can be seen on Mindy Kaling’s hit HBOMax series The Sex Lives of College Girls, where he plays Eric, editor of the campus’s prestigious comedy magazine. Mekki’s standup has been featured on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Central’s Up Next, he’s been named a Comedian You Should Know by Vulture, and his Comedy Central Stand Up Featuring set is one of the most viewed of the series. Mekki’s been named a New Face of Comedy by the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, has performed at Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and headlines clubs and colleges around the country.
LUKE MONES
Luke wrote and starred in the Comedy Central digital series Genies. He was selected by Netflix for their Introducing… stand up showcase at their inaugural comedy festival and was named an Up Next comedian by Comedy Central. Luke has hosted a comedy news show for Inside Edition called The Breakdown. He also appeared on Insecure on HBO as well as Conan on TBS multiple times.
Luke has performed in festivals like the Netflix is a Joke Festival, Clusterfest, the New York Comedy Festival and the Laughing Devil Festival, where he won 1st Place. Luke’s short “Early Decision” screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and his work has been written up in The AV Club, Tubefilter, and the Huffington Post.
