Annual Freshman Water Ice Social

Event Description

Welcome event for freshmen and all grade levels, primarily serving the Black community. Designed to connect people for the school year and help upperclassmen provide advice, friendship, and guidance to younger students. In Philadelphia, Black-owned businesses have become significant players in the water ice landscape with a wide-ranging community impact. A welcoming environment is created based on these cultural aspects of community bonding, while also serving as a collection site for school supplies and clothing to support local Philadelphia children.
