About the exhibition:
Showcasing more than 250 items from the Penn Museum’s North American collections alongside contemporary Native art pieces, the Native North America Gallery will share complex histories and living relationships of Indigenous peoples to their ancestral homelands.
Developed in partnership with eight Indigenous consulting curators, this 2,000-sq.-ft. interactive exhibition will explore the political, religious, linguistic, and artistic self-determination of Native peoples across the United States who are still thriving—despite a historic agenda to erase Indigenous identity, culture, and language.
